Man Caves Make Things Smoother

Nov 27

Every man needs a man cave. It just helps everything in life run more smoothly. So many fights are started between husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends or what have you, simply because a man doesn’t have the space he needs to himself. If he doesn’t have his own area to work on things like motorcycles and cars, model planes or his own custom computer, little bits and pieces end up everywhere. Grease in the carpet, plane wings in the sofa, it’s all a big mess and the fight ensues. It is not a pretty sight. For her part, it’s probably best that the woman in the household and in the relationship has a similar space. Maybe she likes to work on cars and bikes too, or maybe she prefers scrapbooking, needlework, knitting and other less greasy but equally messy pursuits. Either way, the point is that both halves of a couple should have their own space. This will dramatically help keep the peace in a relationship.

For the man cave, men who don’t usually give two hoots about things such as interior decorating or accessorizing will go wild. They’ll start thinking about things like “What would make this space interesting or really stand out?” The same men that their wives couldn’t get to pick a carpet color will start fretting about whether their checked motif will clash with the mirrored disco ball and the red upholstered diner seats, etc. And watch how they stress out over which is the perfect pool table, shuffleboard table, dart board, etc. It’s a great experience, not just for keeping the peace about having their own space, but because it also provides an indirect appreciation for such decorating things. Then in the future, perhaps the man and woman will be able to collaborate better than ever before when it comes to choosing the draperies for the house.
